Global Conference

The GOPAC Global Conference is a biennial event that brings together leaders, members, prospective members, stakeholders and funders to further inspire, educate and equip GOPAC Chapters and its individual members in the ongoing fight against corruption. The conference is a multi-day event that includes workshops as well as meetings to assess progress and explore new topics of common concern.

 

Fifth Global Conference of Parliamentarians Against Corruption

 

GOPAC in partnership with the Philippine Senate and Southeast Asian Parliamentarians Against Corruption (SEAPAC) hosted the fifth Global Conference of Parliamentarians Against Corruption January 30 – February 2, 2013 in Manila, Philippines.

GOPAC, the Mexican national chapter and the Senate of Mexico were pleased to partner for the  fourth Global Conference of Parliamentarians Against Corruption held in Mexico City, Mexico, March 11 – 13, 2011. The Conference brought together parliamentarians and experts from around the world to examine how parliamentarians can participate in the effective implementation and oversight of the UN Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC). In many cases this included strengthening the capacity of parliament to do so.

Third Global Conference of Parliamentarians Against Corruption

GOPAC and its Arab Chapter (ARPAC) were proud to partner with the Parliament of Kuwait to host the 3rd Global Conference of Parliamentarians Against Corruption November 16 – 19, 2008. The Conference brought together parliamentarians from around the world to focus on the role of parliamentarians in the UN Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC) and its effective implementation and oversight.

Second Global Conference of Parliamentarians Against Corruption

GOPAC and its African Chapter (APNAC) partnered with the Parliament of Tanzania to host the second Global Conference of Parliamentarians Against Corruption. The conference was held in the Arusha International Conference Centre from September 19 – 23, 2006 and brought together parliamentarians from around the world to develop a concrete plan of action for GOPAC and its chapters.

First Global Conference of Parliamentarians Against Corruption

GOPAC’s first Global Conference was held in Ottawa, Canada, October 13-16, 2002. It brought together over 150 parliamentarians, 107-plus observers and parliamentary staff to discuss issues of corruption, parliamentary oversight and effective governance. It officially launched GOPAC as an institution, approved a constitution and developed an improved global understanding of the nature of corruption and parliamentarians’ role in fighting it. The conference was an opportunity for parliamentarians from around the world to discuss their shared experiences in the fight against corruption and establish strong networks for the road ahead.
